Getting There: Boat or Trail?
There are two ways to reach Fteri Beach:
By boat (water taxi) - The easy, scenic option from Agia Kyriaki.
By trail - A rewarding hike through the wild landscape of the island.
In this guide, we focus on the trail hike.

Plan Your Hike with Wikiloc
The trail isn’t difficult, but it’s easy to get off course, so I strongly recommend using Wikiloc to follow the route. This app will keep you on the right path and help you focus on enjoying the stunning scenery.
Dowload it for Android and for iOS.
It’s a moderate hike—about 40 minutes one way at a steady pace. The way down is smooth, while the return is an uphill climb, so plan accordingly.

Trail Essentials: What to Bring
Here’s a quick checklist for your Fteri hike:
✅ Sturdy hiking shoes - Trust me, it’s not a walk in flip-flops!
✅ Hat & sunglasses - The sun is intense, and the white pebbles on the beach reflect the rays.
✅ Sunscreen - Essential to protect your skin.
✅ Water - I carry my stainless steel Yeti bottle.
✅ Snack or sandwich - Refuel at the beach.

✅ Towel & light backpack.
Important: Fteri is a wild beach—no facilities, so pack everything you need and take everything back.

The Trail Experience: Effort Meets Reward
The trail to Fteri is an experience in itself. You’ll walk through Mediterranean landscapes, with olive trees, wild herbs, and flowering shrubs along the way. It’s a peaceful, raw side of Kefalonia that many visitors miss.
And then, there’s Fteri Beach—a postcard-perfect paradise of white pebbles, turquoise water, and dramatic cliffs. It’s wild, untouched, and absolutely worth the hike.
